It has been an incredibly productive week for Larry and his fellow Ax-1 crew members aboard the International Space Station. They have been working 14-hour days to complete scientific research projects and educational outreach while orbiting the earth on the first fully-private mission to the ISS.
“The ISS is a technical marvel. It is complex and busy,” Larry said. “The amount of groundbreaking research they are doing is really breathtaking.”
Larry’s made history on this mission as the first person to ever travel to the deepest parts of the ocean and outer space within one year. Over the last two days, Larry conducted 11 different videos talking with groups including:
- Dayton Early College Academy
- Dayton Regional STEM School
- Dr. Steven Nissen at the Cleveland Clinic
- Boonshoft Museum of Discovery in Dayton
- National and local media interviews
Last evening, Larry made national news headlines on CNBC’s The News with Shepard Smith. He shared his reactions to life and research in space.

“It’s a tremendous opportunity and challenge,” Larry said. “But in the end, I would really emphasize that it’s not about me. It’s about education, research and trying to make not only the US but the world a better place to live in.”
Tomorrow, Larry will answer questions from associates during a special broadcast from the ISS at 9 a.m. in all time zones and markets. Make sure to mark your planners!
