A Noble Cause

The book Tribal Leadership, which has long been a staple on the shelves of Connor Group associates, details the need for high performers to have a “noble cause” – a reason, beyond just a paycheck or promotion, to do their job at a high level.

Connor Group associates don’t need to look very far to find their noble cause. All they need to do is look at their financials.

That’s because property financials reveal how property-based associates, regardless of job description, are performing compared to their goals. And, because of The Connor Group’s affiliation with Kids & Community Partners, that performance translates directly to the non-profit work we’re able to do. Associates who routinely surpass their goals add more value to the property. When we have a capital event, that value is unlocked, and Kids & Community receives its funding. On average, when we sell a property, $1.5 million goes toward our work in under-resourced communities.

Every close, every renewal, every turn, every work order is an opportunity to make the world a better place.

Twice a year we take stock of the work that’s been done and determine which associates are adding the most value for Kids & Community.

“Increasingly, when we talk to associates, this is something that brings them great pride,” said Kids & Community director Ryan Ernst. “It’s a testament to the kind of people we hire. Truly high performers want to have an impact.”

In that vein, below is the Kids & Community honor roll for the first half of 2025. It details the associates having the greatest impact and the dollars their performances are generating.
