Big first impressions

Each awards breakfast we recognize associates making a big impact early on in their Connor Group career. Here are the 10 new associates recognized with the Super Out of the Gate Award in August.

Garrett Gonyaw – Sales Associate, Austin

Garrett opened his Connor Group career as part of the first team that took over Edison in February. His relentless nature showed right out of the gate.

“He’s someone who will power through 20 ‘no’s’ just to get the answer he wants,” said regional head Dan Pisegna. “I can already see he has the potential to be a successful senior sales associate for us in the years to come.”

Maurice Harper – Turn Tech, Charlotte

In August, when partner Ben Leonhardt was promoted to regional service trainer, Maurice stepped up at Elizabeth Station to help complete a total of 413 work orders. In fact, he’s already on track to become a lead tech before the end of the year.

“At this rate, it won’t be long before we’re talking about senior lead tech Maurice Harper,” said partner and area manager Payton Stone. “His positive and solution-oriented attitude is infectious amongst his peers.”

Mike Parker – Property Manager, Chicago

Mike started at Stonebridge Village before quickly moving between all three properties in Chicago this year.

“I remember Mike being so eager during my day in the field with him,” said partner and senior director Michelle Murphy. “He showed up early with super high energy and committed to learning our systems.”

After helping prepare Tapestry for sale in July, Mike is now at Wheaton 121, where Michelle expects him to test out as a general manager.

Jacob Hausfeld – Turn Tech, Cincinnati

Jacob stepped up when the Cincinnati market needed him most. As the turn tech at Wellington Place, he pitches in to help McCauly Crossing’s team complete work orders and shares e-phone duties.

“He’s relentless,” partner and regional head Sal Gracia said. “Jacob is always coming to our meetings with feedback and solutions.”

At Wellington, Jacob is implementing his own cost-savings idea to clean copper bay windows, saving the property nearly $3,000 in outsourced costs.

Christopher Desmarais – Grounds associate, Columbus

Dublin Park is no picnic for our grounds associates. With over 30 acres of townhomes, each with their own private entrances, you’ll get a day’s worth of steps in before lunchtime.

“Chris was up for the challenge from day one,” said Sal. “He’s a self-starter who knows what to do before it’s asked of him.”

Amber Parker – Sales Associate, Dallas

Amber started with us at L2 Uptown as part of the team responsible for seeing it through a successful sale in May.

“Tenacious is the word I’d use to describe Amber,” said Dan Pisegna. “She’s really learned to use her assertiveness to her advantage.”

Now, she’s teamed up with Krystal Ware at Allura Las Colinas, where she’s running the renewal program.

Arica DeMerchant – Lead Sales, Louisville

“Forget about faking it until you make it,” said property manager Marc Vo. “Arica has been making it happen from day one.”

Arica started her first full month in February at Paddock at Eastpoint with 31 pieces of traffic, closing at 39 percent with seven approved rentals. She backed that up in March with 42 pieces closing at 43 percent with 12 approved rentals.

“She’s got grit,” said regional head Kristen Rutledge. “She will never give up.”

Hailey Wilson – Sales Associate, Minneapolis

Partner and senior property manager Amanda Barnes recalls meeting Hailey at the Central Support office during a sales class.

“She stood out as someone who was eager to learn and ask questions,” Amanda said. “Her relentless positive attitude is infectious.”

Since starting in May, Hailey hit every Google review goal. Take one look at the reviews for City Walk at Woodbury, and you’ll see residents mentioning her great customer service.

Nicole Turk – Property Manager, Nashville

Within her first week, Nicole was already making a strong impression with CEO Bob Lloyd.

“We were listening to her very first calls, and Bob gave her an 8.0,” said Kristen Rutledge. “And, we all know his rating scale!”

Having trained with newly promoted regional manager and sales trainer Ashley Matos at Waterford Place, Nicole is now the manager of Cross Creek of Murfreesboro.

Alexandra Pellett – Property Manager, Tampa

Alexandra made an impression during her day in the field interview with partner and senior regional manager and sales trainer Jenn Moreno.

“She was super positive, high energy, and very gritty,” said Jenn. “I knew right away she would be a cultural fit.”

Alexandra did not disappoint. She recently passed her sales manager test out and exceeded the revenue of $680,000 at Mezzo in August.
