People always have been – and always will be – The Connor Group’s key to success. It’s our job to find, interview and evaluate those special people. In recent months we’ve asked recruiters and leaders within the organization about their all-time best hires.
Senior executive recruiter Kara Kershner recently told us about hers – senior field recruiter Kevin Pierce …
Why was he your best hire?
Not only is he a top performer delivering 113-percent to his goals in 2021 and 120-percent in 2022, but he also always has a positive go-getter attitude.

What do you remember most from his recruiting process?
I’ve known Kevin since 2012, during our time at Sprint. He was a recruiter in the area, so I reached out to him jokingly to come work with me. A recruiter interview usually takes about 30 minutes, and I thought he screwed up his interview with (partner and Senior VP) Chris Jemo because he was in his office for 45 minutes. I thought to myself, “Oh, great. He probably talked too much.” Thankfully it was because they were talking about sports.
What made you think he would be a good fit?
Knowing him personally and working alongside him in our cellphone days, I knew he would be a cultural fit. Kevin also is competitive by nature, which makes recruiters successful here.

Which of his traits do you wish you could find in more candidates?
Grit is No. 1 for sure! In recruiting, we are constantly told “no thanks” or are “ghosted.” We must understand not everyone will make it through the process. You can either dwell on the things that don’t work out, or you can move on and focus on the long term. His positive attitude just radiates through the halls.
What do you expect from him in the future?
I see a very bright future here for Kevin. His hard work and dedication to The Connor Group only sets a higher bar for future recruiters. I also wouldn’t be surprised if I saw him on the radar for partnership because he truly is All In.
