‘His brain is solutions-oriented’

Four years ago, Matt Brewer was looking for something different. He was working in food management and needed a change of pace.  Along came The Connor Group, offering Matt the right opportunity.

The rest is history.

Matt didn’t start as a property manager or sales. He started an entirely new career path as a maintenance technician.

“Matt fell in love with our culture,” regional manager and sales trainer Courtney Dies said. “He takes every challenge and assignment thrown at him and handles it with a positive, solution-oriented mindset.”

Matt was officially promoted to the regional service trainer in Chicago. He will be leaving his current Nashville market and reuniting with Courtney to help develop, train and continue building the right culture in Chicago.

“It’s such a pleasure to work with Matt,” Courtney said. “We worked together in Nashville, and I’ve seen firsthand how he can make a manager’s job much easier by helping our techs think high-level. His brain is just solution-oriented.”

Since starting at The Connor Group, Matt has worked at both Ashton Brook and Elliston 23 in Nashville. He will also help get our newest acquisition, Waterford Place, off the ground and running before fully transitioning to Chicago in the next 30-60 days.

Partner and director of service training Paul Leber believes Matt has been instrumental in helping train and develop our Louisville and Chicago associates even before earning his promotion. He’s always looking for ways to help, has a strong work ethic and a positive can-do attitude.

“Matt jumped right in when we had our deep freeze in Chicago last year,” Paul said. “He was quick to offer assistance and helped repair pipes and did water remediation.”

When it comes to culture, Matt embodies every one of our core values. He is eager to learn and absorb knowledge and consistently does the right thing. Matt spent time training in our North Carolina and Dayton markets with partners Pedro Ducos, Paul Fischer and Dave Peacock to continue to master our systems, taking expert knowledge and using it to develop talent wherever he’s needed.

“We’ve been looking for the right service trainer in Chicago to build the right culture in the market,” Paul said. “I’m confident Matt’s our man.”

Congratulations, Matt!
