In some ways, Connor Group recruiting is similar to a dating app. We swipe and swipe for a cultural fit and when we land on the right person, it’s a match. But it’s only the beginning. For an associate to truly succeed here, he or she needs to own his or her development.
Sales associate Karlee Holcomb, a cultural fit who has embraced training, is a perfect example. And as a result, for the first time in her career, Karlee is the top associate in our October Sales Honor Roll. She finished the month with a $210 average re-rent, $208 average renewal and exceeded her renewal, approved rentals and traffic goals.

“Karlee is off to a great start with the correct mindset,” said Kristen Rutledge, regional head in our Nashville market. “She’s a cultural fit.”
Karlee is taking her development into her own hands at Cross Creek. Before taking traffic at the property, she roleplayed with other associates. Property manager Ashley Matos said Karlee’s ability to handle direct feedback and buy in to our process and systems has made a huge difference in her performance.
“Karlee is willing to listen and adapt quickly,” Ashley said. “My initial reaction to Karlee’s success was shock and awe. Within her first week, she was closing at 40 percent. Right away, she wanted to figure out what to do to get into the playing field.”
Karlee shocked herself too.
“It was mind-blowing,” Karlee said. “I didn’t expect to see my face to pop up on the Honor Roll flyer.”
She is determined to have a repeat performance next month and land at the top again.
“When it comes to being relentless, I’ve set the bar high,” Karlee said. “I will continue to learn and take feedback in the moment. I love the fact that feedback is consistent. It’ll help me grow.”
But Karlee is just one success story on this month’s sales honor roll.

Sales associate Cody Gagner went back to the basics when we bought Quinn at Plymouth at the end of August. He is executing our systems at an elite level and finished October with an average re-rent of $159 and $74 average renewal.
“Cody and I are dialed in,” said Amanda Barnes, senior director and partner. “Cody comes in organized and accountable. We write in our planners every day, which truly makes a difference for him at a new property.”
Sales associate Alex Chavarria and property manager Lisa Kaehler at Barton Creek round out our top three properties.
