From palm trees to pine trees, at first glance, Grand Riviera Miramar and Somerset at Deerfield may not seem to have much in common. But in March, the teams at both properties respectfully finished first and second on the property honor roll. If you ask leaders at either property how they achieved this success, you’ll find it all comes down to the right people.
“Traci Quetano, Sammy Howard, Amber Parker, and Samir Jose have absolutely started the Miami/ Fort Lauderdale market off the right way,” said partner and regional head Sal Gracia.
The Connor Group acquired Grand Riviera Miramar in December 2022, expanding our portfolio to 17 markets. Ever since our team in South Florida has dominated our Honor Rolls, whether it’s manager, sales or service recognition.
The associates at Grand Riviera say it’s the one-team mentality that’s helped them quickly become such a high-performing group. They’ve exceeded net operating income by $104,373 year to date.
“The people on this team have been the biggest part of our success,” said Sammy. “We push each other to be relentless, and each member plays a vital role. The whole market founding experience has been unbelievable, and I highly recommend others to consider it.”
Nearly 1,200 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale, partner and senior director Tiffany Montoya believes the same key to success out of the starting gate at Somerset in Cincinnati was, again, the people. The team exceeded NOI by $84,879 at a 498-unit property that requires an elite group to execute our plans and processes.
“Having the right people executing the right plan and sticking to that plan has been key to our success,” said Tiffany. “We are relentless day in and day out, and we don’t deviate from our systems.”
We purchased Somerset in October 2022, now owning the property for a second time. But according to Tiffanty, previously owning this luxury apartment community hasn’t played a major factor in their recent accomplishments. In reality, it’s not a factor the Somerset team considers day-to-day.
“At The Connor Group, we look forward. We don’t really think about this being the second time around,” Tiffany said. “We set our eyes on our monthly, weekly, and daily goals.”
Although according to Tiffany, property goals aren’t the ONLY thing team Somerset has their eyes set on.
“Watch out, Grand Riviera. Somerset is coming for that top spot on the Honor Roll!”
