Camaraderie Counts

With the right people, plans and processes, three properties knocked it out of the park last month, successfully closing $59.4 million in refinances. And in true Connor Group fashion, all three properties exceeded their goals.

Associates at Waterford Place, Saxon Woods and Hunters Chase credit their success to their camaraderie, staying solution-oriented and overcoming obstacles.

The Saxon Woods team closed out the largest refinance of the month, a $24.5 million transaction. Our associates exceeded their original August revenue target and closed out October hitting a whopping $840 thousand.

Sales manager Jessica Ely was blown away by her team’s performance and relentless pursuit of excellence.

“I’ve never done anything in my life for $24.5 million,” Jessica said. “This was possible because of our planning; it starts with our DPMs (daily productivity meetings). We all know what needs to happen and where we need to be as a team, collectively.”

With regional head Dan Pisenga as their biggest cheerleader and challenger, the Saxon team is confident they will continue to raise the bar.

In Nashville, our Waterford Place associates successfully closed an $8.7 million refinance. The team performed at an elite level right out of the gate. We purchased Waterford Place in August of 2020 and delivered on a capital event just one year after the acquisition.

“(Regional head) Kristen Rutledge recognized us for our team effort,” property manager Matt Kent said. “(Regional service trainer) Matt Brewer and the service team were key players. I feel like we have stabilized the property with consistent leasing office associates too.”

The Waterford team hit their $278 thousand revenue target a month early by increasing rates by $154 and improving the NOI (Net Operating Income) by $102 thousand.

At Hunters Chase in Dayton, our associates closed on a $7.2 million refinance under the leadership of partner and senior director Katie Powell and manager Katie Smith.

“These associates are my family,” Katie Powell said. “If you don’t have that camaraderie, you won’t be successful. You have to want to go work and succeed beside other people.”

When Katie Powell transitioned to our new acquisition, Dovetree, Katie Smith continued driving our culture and results at the property.

“It’s about thinking like an owner too,” Katie Powell said. “(Property manager) Lisa May continues to impress me and (partner) Lori Case is the backbone at Hunters.”

Associates at all three properties enjoyed a night of reward and recognition for their efforts – including dinners, limo rides, awards and bonuses.

Congrats to our Saxon Woods, Waterford Place and Hunters Chase associates on successful refinances.
