Cashing in

It’s halftime in our Summer Service Contest, and our service associates are cashing in. During the first two months, 81 service associates were paid an extra $64,000 for meeting or exceeding goals. The first-of-its-kind contest put our lead techs and turn techs in a position to be rewarded in a big way during the busiest time of year.

“We’ve never launched a contest like this for our service team, and you can feel the excitement,” partner and VP of Training Ashley Smith said. “Productivity is up across the board, so this contest is a win-win.”

Lead tech Robbie Elizee in Louisville leads the contest overall, taking home $2,012.50 over the first two months. He completed work orders at Highland Station with a 100% response rate in both months. In addition, he turned 38 apartments over the last 60 days between work at Highland Station and Paddock at Eastpoint.

“He’s cool as a cucumber. He goes into the day knowing what he needs to do and does it,” said partner and regional trainer Ashley Matos. “Robbie is so efficient that he’s helping not just one property but multiple properties. He’s level-headed and has a great attitude.”

Robbie said this is his fourth summer at The Connor Group. He enjoys the fast-paced environment and staying busy throughout the summer.

“It’s definitely nice. I appreciate the extra cash in my pocket. But I also just enjoy this time of year. I’m used to it. I love constantly going.” Robbie said. “It makes the time go quickly, and it feels good to get stuff done.

“I also like bouncing around to different properties. I worked with (partner) Kim Whitesell in Nashville, so it’s great to work under her leadership again.”

On the turn tech side, Jordan Belland-Malone in Minneapolis is at the top of the charts, earning $2,000 for his hard work. He delivered 40 turns over the last two months at Excelsior & Grand. Jordan started as a grounds associate in March of 2022 and quickly moved up to the turn tech position.

“I love the people here, especially at Excelsior & Grand,” Jordan said. “Even the residents are really cool. I love what I do.”

He enjoys working to perfect his painting technique daily, increasing his productivity, which put him in a position to earn big throughout the first half of the contest.

“When you use sprayers, you can make mistakes and have to go back. I’ve been focusing on my technique and getting the least amount of blue tape,” Jordan said. “Recently, I turned an apartment that only had three blue tapes.”

The summer service contest runs through August 31st, so there’s still time to cash in on this opportunity. As a reminder, service associates who complete lead tech duties and turns at a property are eligible to receive payouts in both categories!
