At The Connor Group, we believe in, live by and execute the Circle of Success. It starts by setting clear expectations. That’s exactly what a brand-new turn tech training outlines for new hires.
“It’s setting clear expectations across the company,” said partner and regional service trainer Dave Peacock. “This new training is a great way to make sure everyone is aligned as a company. So there’s no Ohio way, Texas way or Florida way. It’s simple. It’s The Connor Group way.”
In March, partner and regional service trainer Rob Murray led the first-of-its-kind bootcamp at Estates at New Albany. The class brought turn techs from across the country together to focus on the basics, going through the turn process together in real time.
“Over the course of three days, we covered culture, standards, equipment, systems and processes,” said Rob. “We want to make sure everyone knows every step of the turn process. So they know what standard they should be performing at and how long things take because knowledge is speed.”
Newly promoted lead tech Donnie Ritzman attended the Columbus bootcamp. He started in our San Antonio market in January and believes this new training is a game-changer for new associates.
“It really helped me understand how much time certain tasks should take,” said Donnie. “When a manager asks me how long something will take now, I feel more confident in my response.
“I think someone could come into the company, do this new turn tech bootcamp and feel confident in themselves. They’ll know the standards and what steps it takes to get a turn done.”
In April, 80% of the techs who attended this newest bootcamp hit or exceeded their monthly turn goal. Our Training Department plans to hold turn tech bootcamps every 30 to 60 days, providing our techs with the tools they need to execute and live our Circle of Success.
“This is only the beginning,” Rob said. “We’ll continue to raise the bar with each bootcamp improving our teaching and training. It’s our relentless pursuit of excellence.”
