Full Speed Ahead

The roots of The Connor Group’s Relentless Pursuit Race began in 2020 when partner and senior VP of talent acquisition Chris Jemo decided not to take ‘no’ for an answer. After an upcoming marathon was abruptly canceled, Chris and 20 other associates refused to back down. Instead, they created their own finish line—and then crossed it together.

What started as a small, determined response to a setback has become a signature annual event that grows stronger each year. This year’s race took that spirit to new heights, welcoming over 350 runners to the Greater Dayton School and uniting Connor Group associates and the community across 18 markets.

“In 2020, the race was on a much smaller scale, but it’s been incredible to see how far it’s come. I’m especially proud that we’re now able to include the entire GDS community,” said Chris.

Race day was packed with energy and excitement as Connor Group associates embraced the opportunity to connect with the GDS students and families who directly benefit from their hard work.

One aspect of the event that stuck out to Kids and Community Partners coordinator Andrea Seitz was being able to show her family one example of how her work impacts the community.

“This was the first Relentless Pursuit Race I’ve been a part of, but it was so great to bring my family to the school and show them firsthand what I talk about when I come home from work. Also, seeing the kids outside and running around was great. You really get a sense of how our work can be so valuable,” said Andrea.

Chris was sure to recognize executive assistant Hope Collins for her pivotal role as race coordinator.

“This event wouldn’t have been possible without Hope, she took ownership of the entire process and made sure everything ran smoothly,” he said.

Though Chris was unable to run this year, the Jemo family tradition carried on strong, with his son, lead tech Christopher Jemo taking first place in the 10K.
