Applause rang out at the National Awards Dinner as Amy Hoffard walked up, accepting her promotion to senior manager. That moment recognizing her hard work happened just three months ago. Now, Amy already has her sights set on her next goal.
Before placing her promotion award on the shelf, Amy knew she wanted to continue taking her career to the next level and become a trainer at The Connor Group.

Amy is utilizing her knowledgeable and believable Connor Group associates along with two key tools to achieve her next objectives – the manager career path and scorecards. These two resources rolled out in 2023 and already have helped guide managers like Amy to better understand their growth and development.
“It was created because we wanted to have really clear expectations for managers so that they could take their development and their growth into their own hands,” partner Courtney Dies said. “They’re extreme owners of their business. We want them to be extreme owners of their own development as well.”
After growing from the general manager position to the senior manager role, Amy admitted she needed help developing, but it wasn’t until she had her first look at the manager scorecard along with the manager career path that she realized which specific areas she needed to grow.

“I didn’t ever really know exactly where I was,” Amy said. “It was very eye-opening when we introduced the scorecards, and we broke it down by sections of, what am I doing a good job with and what am I not?”
Amy worked side by side with Courtney at Arbors of Anderson in Cincinnati to build out her personal development plan, finding ways for her to elevate her manager skillset. After more than two years with the company, Amy continues to be impressed by the training opportunities every Connor Group associate has access to.

“It’s very exciting to work for a company that invests the amount of time and money into our development and our training to make us better,” Amy said.
The manager career path outlines non-negotiables for every manager tier, systematizing a career structure for every manager across every market. The new career paths launched in 2023 and are already making an impact. For Courtney, the manager career path is only the beginning.
“I love developing people. It’s why I’m in the Training Department,” Courtney said. “Getting to see people set goals for themselves…watching them achieve their goals…there is literally nothing more rewarding.”
