As if August wasn’t hot enough, a new competition between the regional managers is heating up. This new SMT showdown pit partners Brad Dykes and Kristen Rutledge against Sal Gracia and Payton Stone. The dueling duos will be betting on the teams in their markets with more than just bragging rights on the line.
“Cowboy Brad better hold onto his horses if he thinks he and Kristen are gonna walk away with this competition,” said Payton.
So, what’s the challenge? The team with the highest percentage to their goals on renewals and approved rentals wins. What do they win? Not only will the winning SMTs get R&R paid for by the losers, BUT the losers will also have to star in a video of the winners’ choice.
“The only question around this challenge is will we have Sal and Payton sing Kid Rock again or change up genres,” said Brad.

Sal comes into the contest feeling confident after finishing July with the highest approved rental percentage at 92%. On the flip side, Sal finished with the lowest renewal percentage, delivering only 93% to his goal, but is he worried?
“Worried?” scoffed Sal. “I’m about as worried as Rob Murray elbows deep in an AC unit. Not very.”
Kristen was unable to be reached for comment. Loop believes she was already actively cheering on her teams like a rowdy fan at Rupp Arena.
